Bulky waste collections
Before throwing good quality furniture away, please contact homeless charity Emmaus, which runs a furniture store in Oxford that collects reusable furniture, electrical appliances and other household items from anywhere in Oxfordshire. The items are then sold on to raise money for the charity. Call 01865 763698 or email email@example.com and explain what you want to donate, or for more information see the .
Examples of what we collect:
- furniture (such as sofas, chairs, and tables)
- washing machines
- fridges and freezers*
* You must clean and empty fridges and freezers of all food before we collect them.
Items we don't collect
We cannot collect any type of commercial waste and DIY waste such as fixtures or fittings. This includes fridge freezers manufactured for commercial use. Please note if you pay someone to dispose of this kind of waste you need to check they are a registered waste carrier and and make sure they give you a waste transfer note to state where the rubbish is being taken from and to. For more information on this see the .
When you book, you will be given a number of collection days to choose from. The items must be visible and accessible on your property from 7am on the agreed collection day(s). The items must be left at the edge of your property next to the public highway. If you live in a flat or other property and we normally collect your rubbish from communal bins, the items must be put out next to where we collect the communal bins from. If they aren’t in the correct location when the crew come to make the collection, they won’t be collected and no refund will be due.
For further information on this service, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
A bulky waste collection costs £38 for up to three items and £7.50 per additional item, up to a maximum of six items per collection. If you have more than six items you would need to book another collection day for any remaining items.
Before you contact us to book your bulky waste collection, have a good think about whether you have any other big items to dispose of. Once we have processed your booking, we are unable to make any alterations or add any other items – even if you have only booked one or two items.
