Car parking

The Council is responsible for public off street car parks and offers a range of long and short stay parking facilities in Abingdon, Wantage, Faringdon and Botley to meet the needs of people shopping, visiting or working in the area.

We allow free parking for all disabled drivers of vehicles who hold a valid disabled badge. There are clearly marked disabled bays within each car park, including the ground floor level of the Charter multi-storey car park in Abingdon. If these spaces are not available, you can park in any car park space free of charge, the only stipulation is your disabled badge must be clearly displayed wherever you park.

These pages give details of all our car parks as well as well as information about parking permits and parking fines. For any other queries please contact the Council's Car Park Section using the contact details on the right. Outside office hours please leave a message, or telephone the emergency telephone numbers advertised in each car park.

Oxfordshire County Council, as Highway Authority, is responsible for on street parking activities, which include street pay and display parking, control of traffic, regulations (e.g. yellow lines), bus lay bys and residents parking schemes. In the first instance any queries should be addressed to Oxfordshire County Council, Speedwell House, Speedwell Street, Oxford. Details of how to pay county council parking fines can be found on this page of the County Council's website. Alternatively, telephone 01865 792422.
