Leader of the council

The council leader is Councillor Matthew Barber, who represents the Hanneys Ward, and has been the Conservative leader since 2009. Cllr Barber was elected on 18 May 2011.

Cllr Barber said: "This is a significant change for the council and I am delighted to be taking up the role as leader. We have already started to put our ambitious plans in place and will give a new direction to the Vale of White Horse, working with local people and businesses to strengthen our economy and our communities."
