Fees and Charges
The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 2010
The amount you’ll have to pay depends on the type of work you’re going to do, but the total will be the same whether it’s a full plan or a building notice application.
Regularisations and reversion applications are charged separately.
In any instance the full charge is due when the application is submitted.
For some extensions and non-domestic work, a submission of estimated costs for the works will be needed to value the project. These estimates should be based on a commercial value for completing the work rather than an actual cost (which might sometimes be less due to an applicant undertaking parts of the work themselves).
Details of the fee applicable to your project can be discussed with the Building Control Team before making an application and a copy of our fees and charges can be requested by contacting building control directly.
Please note a non-refundable admin fee of £94.50 inc VAT (£78.50 ex VAT) is payable if an application is withdrawn.
Further details regarding refunds can be found under Refunds and Supplementary Charges within the Charging Scheme which is available upon request.
